Corian® Facts
  • Corian® is an acrylic made by DuPont that is primarily used for countertops.
  • Corian® is dishwasher safe.
  • Corian® is non-porous so food and most household stains wipe off with a sponge and soapy water. Stubborn stains like coffee, grape juice, ink, hair dye and food coloring rub off with an abrasive household cleanser and a Scotch-Brite pad. Even tougher stains disappear using fine grade (180-200 grit) sandpaper. Polishing afterwards with a buffing pad will return the surface to its original matte finish.
  • Corian® is the most hygienic and sanitary surface material available today. Independent laboratory tests have shown that these non-porous surfaces will not support germs or mildew growth. Due to the durability and sanitary nature of this surface, these cutting boards can be left on the countertop at all times, thereby giving you an ever-ready meat, vegetable and pastry board. The feet attached to the bottom allow air movement below the board to keep your countertop dry and stabilize the cutting board while in use.
  • Corian® boards may be used as trivets for casseroles or dishes up to 375 degrees.
  • Chill Corian® boards before using to serve cheeses and hor d’oeuvres to keep them cool.
  • Place frozen items on your Corian® board to defrost faster.
